The Success Story of Future of Education 2019

The 2nd International Conference on Future of Education 2019  was organized by The International Institute of Knowledge Management (TIIKM), Sri Lanka and hosted by the Faculty of Education, The University of Ljubljana, Slovenia and School of Professional and Continuing Education (UTMSPACE), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. The conference was held on 13th – 14th June 2019 in Bangkok, Thailand under the theme“Empowering Learners in a Digital World” with its successful academic partners De La Salle Araneta University, Philippines, Universidad De Las Fuerzas Armadas – ESPE, Ecuador, and Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST), Kenya.

INAUGURATION CEREMONY

The opening remarks of Future of Education 2019 were made by the Conference Chair Dr Brian D. Beitzel (Director of Education Assessment and Accreditation, Professor of Educational Psychology, School of Education and Human Ecology, State University of New York College, Oneonta, New York) together with Mr. Isanka P. Gamage (Managing Director, The International Institute of Knowledge Management).

PARTNER APPRECIATION AWARDS

Prof. Dr. Janez Vogrinc (Dean, Faculty of Education University Ljubljana, Slovenia) and Assoc. Prof. Sr Dr. Zakaria Mohd Yusof (Director of Continuing Education, UTMSPACE, Malaysia) representing the co-hosting partner Universities were recognized with a token of appreciation during the inauguration session for their valuable contribution. Apart from this, representatives from the academic partner Universities: De La Salle Araneta University, Philippines, Universidad De Las Fuerzas Armadas – ESPE, Ecuador, and Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology (MMUST), Kenya were also recognized for their significant participation and collobaration with TIIKM.

KEYNOTE FORUM AND PLENARY SPEAKERS

The Keynote forum was one of the significant sessions of the Conference and it was enlightened by Mr. Tim Bergmeier (Director, InPlace (Asia) QuantumIT) on the topic “Artificial Intelligence for Educators: Using Technology to Produce Work Ready Graduates”.

Among our participants were researches, academicians, policymakers, industry experts and educational professionals to enhance and update knowledge, share findings among the global audience, and establish academic collaborations. The conference highlighted integrations of technology and education that show promise for facilitating and supporting learning at all levels.

Special Features of Future of Education ’19

Workshop on Strategies for Applying Course Content to Real- World Contexts

This workshop was moderated by the Conference Chair Dr. Brian Beitzel  to discuss strategies for assisting learners to identify how course material applies to situations in everyday life, empowering them to be more effective as citizens in the modern world. The workshop offered insights for university instructors, strategies for effective teaching while demonstrating how classroom material is relevant to these real-world contexts. Academics, Teachers, Lecturers, Students, Industry Experts and Policy makers were able to actively engage in this workshop.

Workshop on “Digital Technology for Education”

he workshop on Digital Technology for Education was moderated by Mr. Tim Bergmeier (Director, InPlace (Asia), QuantumIT) to help participants advance their knowledge, understanding, and fluency with digital learning trends, methods and tools. Conference participants were able to grab this unique opportunity created inside the 2nd International Conference on Future of Education.

The workshop highlighted the following areas:

  • Applying new skills in regards to educational technology in the classroom
  • Demonstrating the use of educational technologies in the classroom
  • Identifying ways that educational technology can be used to support instruction and student learning

Panel Discussion on “The Role of Education in Economic Development”

The panel discussion on “The Role of Education in Economic Development” was held in parallel to the 3rd International Conference on Economics and Development – (ICED 2019). The panel was featured by an economist Dr. Chrysanthi Balomenou (Banking and Finance departmentFaculty of Economic and Administrative SciencesEpoka UniversityAlbania) and Dr. Edward Roy Krishnan (President European International University (EIU), Paris, Managing Director of Bangkok School of Management(BSM) – Bangkok). The panel discussion was moderated by Dr. Brian Beitzel (Director of Education Assessment and Accreditation, Professor of Educational Psychology, School of Education and Human Ecology, State University of New York College, Oneonta, New York). The discussion stressed on the significant contribution to economic development and the interrelateness of  Education and economy in order to play a very crucial role in securing economic and social progress in the society. The discussion also provided the opportunity for the participants to raise their questions and doubts during the Q & A session subsequent to the main session.
